How Lock Bible handles local blocking, prayer history, permissions, and subscription status.

Effective as of July 28, 2026

Introduction

Lock Bible helps you shield selected apps and unlock them after a short prayer. On Android, Lock Bible uses Usage Access, Display over other apps, and a user-visible foreground service. On iPhone, Lock Bible uses Apple Screen Time APIs.

Data Stored On Device

Lock Bible stores prayer sessions, streak counts, unlock windows, selected moods and needs, and your selected shield targets locally on your device. On Android, selected app package names and blocking preferences remain in the app's private local storage. On iPhone, Screen Time selection tokens are shared only with Lock Bible's local extensions through the app group so shields can be applied and removed.

Lock Bible does not read the content of other apps, messages, websites, or notifications.

Android Permissions

Usage Access lets Lock Bible detect when a selected app moves to the foreground. Display over other apps lets Lock Bible show the prayer shield above that app. Notification permission lets the foreground blocking service show its ongoing guarding notification. Foreground app events are evaluated on device for blocking and are not sent to us or used to build an activity history.

You can revoke these permissions in Android Settings. Blocking cannot remain active when a required permission is missing.

iPhone Screen Time Permissions

Lock Bible uses Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity to let you choose apps, categories, or websites to shield. You control the selection through Apple's Screen Time picker. If Screen Time authorization is revoked, Lock Bible stops applying shields.

Purchases

If you subscribe to Lock Bible Pro, Google processes Android purchases through Google Play and Apple processes iPhone purchases through the App Store. RevenueCat processes purchase history and subscription status so the app can determine whether Pro features are active, validate purchases, restore access, and support subscription analytics.

Lock Bible uses anonymous RevenueCat app user IDs and does not connect purchase history to your name, email address, phone number, advertising identifier, or an account login.

Tracking And Ads

  • Lock Bible does not sell personal data.
  • Lock Bible does not use third-party advertising tracking.
  • Lock Bible does not collect the content inside apps you shield.

Retention and Deletion

Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, reset the app, or uninstall Lock Bible. Store transaction records may be retained by Google, Apple, RevenueCat, or us as required for billing, security, fraud prevention, accounting, or legal compliance.
